Honeoye athletes shine at indoor track and field, cheer championships

February 23, 2026
Honeoye's Danny G. won two indoor track titles and was named MVP of the Section V Class B3 meet.
Honeoye senior Danny G. knows how to throw his weight around and clear new heights.

He did both on Saturday to win not only Section V Class B3 championships in the weight throw and pole vault, but he also was named the boys field events MVP of the Section V Class B3 indoor track and field championships at RIT. Danny is believed to be the first Bloomfield-Honeoye to earn indoor track MVP honors at a Section V championship.

He won the high jump by clearing 10 feet, 9 inches to defeat Williamson’s Jaxon VanLare (10-6). He won the weight throw with a toss of 60 feet, 11.5 inches to easily outpace Dezmond Gardner of Canisteo-Greenwood (52-8.25).

Also at the Class B3 meet, Honeoye senior Zara O. was part of the Bloomfield-Honeoye girls 4x800 relay team that finished in third place.
