A total of 53 diplomas were conferred during the ceremony, which also included presentation of medals for Salutatorian (Sarah Baader) and Valedictorian (Cora Gillette). Superintendent of schools Natalie Pfluke joined Baader and Gillette as speakers. The ceremony concluded with the traditional lighting of candles and the singing of the district alma mater before dismissal to the gym for photos and socializing.

Special guests for Friday’s ceremony were graduates of the Class of 1975 celebrating 50 years since their graduation from Honeoye.

Honeoye Clay Target Team Wraps up 5th Season

Clay target shooting is one of the fastest growing sports at the high school level and Honeoye students are right on the mark when it comes to keeping pace.

The club recently concluded its fifth season and has grown from six members in its first season to 20 members for the 2025 spring season.

The wet spring weather presented challenges for 2025 but Honeoye came through with its best season yet. Sophomore Braiden S. and junior Andrew F. were tied for seventh overall for high average (22.5) among conference shooters. Braiden also earned a patch for his round of 25 straight in the first week of the season.

Freshman Bella V. was ranked 12th in the conference with a season average of 13.1, up from 11.7 last year. And sophomore Dillon K. shot a 46/50 at the Little Lakes Trap Tournament in Springwater, missing the tournament title by one target.

At the state tournament, Marshall B. tied for 48th in the novice classification and James C. earned a patch for his round of 25 straight. He finished tied for 24th among junior varsity shooters.

Andrew F. secured a Honeoye first by hitting 50 straight targets and actually went 66 straight without a miss to earn his patch. Andrew finished tied for 8th place among varsity shooters.

Congrats to our Bulldog shooters in the Honeoye Central Clay Target Club on a season well done!
