Important Capital Project Information for Families

Posted Date: 09/04/26 (12:19 PM)

Dear HCS Families,

As we prepare to welcome students back on Tuesday, I wanted to share a few updates regarding our ongoing Capital Project. We are excited about the progress being made throughout our campus, and we appreciate everyone's patience and flexibility.

Please review the following information carefully, particularly the arrival and dismissal procedures.
Elementary Arrival & Dismissal
Until the elementary entrance is ready for regular foot traffic, elementary students will enter through the cafeteria doors in the morning and will exit through the UPK doors at dismissal. Late arrivals and during the school day drop-offs and pick-ups will take place at the District office entrance on the Allen's Hill side of the building.

Secondary Arrival & Dismissal
Until further notice, Secondary students will enter and exit as usual through the secondary/District Office entrance.

Elementary Gym
The new elementary gym will be ready for the first day of school. The new bleachers are expected to arrive in October and will be installed at that time.

High School Gym
The new high school gym floor is currently being installed. Lighting and the bleacher area will also be completed as part of the remaining work. We anticipate approximately 4–5 weeks before the gym is fully finished and ready for use.

Playground
The new playground will be ready on Tuesday. Please note that the area where the new half court will be constructed will be roped off until it is ready to be paved.

Roofing
Roof work is still in progress, and we are working closely with our contractors to keep construction activity as minimally disruptive as possible once school begins. Please continue to use caution and follow any directions or temporary signage while on campus.

We truly appreciate your patience, flexibility, and understanding as we work through these final stages. We are excited about the improvements being made to the school and, most importantly, about welcoming our students back on Tuesday!

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out.
