Capital Project Update

Posted Date: 08/18/26 (10:32 AM)

Good morning all,

As we get closer to the start of the school year, I wanted to share a brief update on the progress of our capital project:

  • Roof: The portion above the Middle School and District Office is nearly complete, and work has now moved to the area above the Music Department rooms. The roof above the canopies will likely be completed last to help minimize noise and disruption above classrooms.
  • Playground: The playground itself is complete! Site contractors are finishing the curbing and mulch, sidewalks on both sides, the gazebo, and the half basketball court.
  • Covered Entrances: The covered entrances are being fine graded in preparation for the concrete walkways. While the canopies may not be fully complete by the start of school, the entrances should still be accessible, as the sidewalks are expected to be finished.
  • Elementary Gym: The floor is currently being sanded and restriped and remains on schedule to be ready for the opening of school.
  • High School Gym: The flooring is being leveled, and the wood is expected to arrive by Monday. The gym is still on schedule to reopen in early October.
  • Bus Garage: While we are still waiting on the ductwork, the fuel tank has been installed and the masonry work is also nearing completion.
  • New Lighting: We are still waiting for final SED approval. Once received, the remaining lighting throughout the building will be completed during the second shift.
  • Mezzanine: Installation of the air handlers in the mezzanine is nearing completion.
  • Clocks: All of the new clocks have been installed and are currently being programmed. The openings left from the old clocks and speakers are still awaiting covers. We are aiming to have everything completed before the start of school, though the work may extend beyond that.

There is still plenty of work happening across campus, but it is exciting to see so much progress as we prepare to welcome everyone back!
