Congratulations to Honeoye’s Otto G. for being recognized at Senator Pam Helming’s 2026 Youth Leadership Recognition Award ceremony, which honors students who demonstrate outstanding leadership and achievements in academics, athletics, music, the arts and community service. 

The National Honor Society student is enrolled in several dual-enrollment and AP-level courses at Honeoye and has been named to numerous honor rolls in addition to being named a Rotary Student of the Month. He helps tutor peers in math and social studies and also works in the community as a delivery driver and sales clerk.

 

“Otto is a phenomenal young man,” said Honeoye counselor Kate VanLare, who nominated Otto. “He is respectful, helpful to peers, focused and dedicated to his academics.” 

Otto’s future plans include college.

“I hope to maintain my leadership traits and tutor people that share the same feeling of falling behind that I was in,” he said. “And allow them to propel themselves forward to help meet their own expectations.”
