Congrats to Landon W., who officially joined exclusive company in Section V boys basketball.
In Friday’s win over Marcus Whitman, the Honeoye junior scored 39 points to clear 2,000 points for his Bulldog career. He becomes just the ninth player in the history of Section V boys basketball to reach this elite scoring achievement.
Landon entered Friday’s game needing 37 points to reach 2,000 and had 28 points by halftime. He cleared 2,000 late in the third quarter with a 3-point shot from the left wing.
Landon finished the game with 39 points and now has 2,002 career points. That puts him 408 points behind the school record of 2,410 of Ralph Angelo (1987-91). Landon already holds the Honeoye records for most points in a season as an eighth-grader (241), ninth-grader (410), 10th grader (701) and as of Feb. 17 is six points shy of the 11-grade record of 656.
