Honeoye Students Inducted into National Honor Society The National Honor Society emphasizes the four pillars of Character, Scholarship, Leadership and Service. And Thursday night, 17 Honeoye students were honored for meeting this level of excellence. The Onagadeca Chapter of NHS at Honeoye welcomed its new members, including three who were inducted last spring, at a ceremony that included family and friends. Brought into the new chapter were: Megan Dates, Daniel Richardson and Emily Russo from last spring. This fall, the inductees are Chloe Brunk, Ellexis Deely, Alexander Drake, Marley Frick, Daniel Gawel, Owen Higgins, Leia McIlwaine-Wood, Dacotah Mebane, Natalee Parsels, Payton Slade, Henry Sherman, Maren Tompkins, Michaela Webster and Emma Wrobel. The ceremony started with Principal Nathan Schneckenburger welcoming all, followed by NHS advisor Carter Bunce outlining the history and significance of NHS. The inductees were then introduced by current NHS members at Honeoye, then recited the NHS Pledge before lighting their candles, the flame of which represents the Flame of Knowledge. The evening concluded with refreshments in the school cafeteria. Congratulations to all our new NHS inductees at Honeoye. The district is proud of your accomplishments and we’re eager to see your continued contributions to the school and community!
