Ms. Tallon: New Director of Pupil Personnel Services Wants to See Honeoye Students "Find Success In School" Rewards come in all shapes and forms but for Stacey Tallon, it can be rather simple. “Seeing students become more independent and find success in school,” the new Director of Pupil Personnel Services at Honeoye Central School District said of her goal. In a world full of challenges for students today, it’s easy to understand why seeing that progress is so fulfilling for Ms. Tallon. And as Director of Pupil Personnel Services, it’s her job to coordinate Special Education for the district, among other responsibilities, to help students reach those goals. But the path to that point isn’t always easy. Streamlining the educational process for all students presents situations that are as unique as each individual that enters the school. In her role at Honeoye, Ms. Tallon coordinates tutorial services, oversees implementation of programs to ensure students with disabilities receive necessary accommodations and support, supervises Special Education teachers, is the liaison for unhoused and foster care students and is the chairperson for the CSE and CPSE programs at the district. It’s a lot, yes, but with more than 20 years in the education field that includes time as a school social worker, Ms. Tallon is more than eager to help Honeoye students thrive. “Individual programs can be different for each student,” she said. “But we want to ensure that students with disabilities get what they need in school and the right kind of support.” A big part of her excitement for the 2024-25 school year is working at a small district like Honeoye. “I’ll get to know the students I’m working with,” she said. “When I walked in for my interview, I immediately felt like I could work here. I felt comfortable and was greeted warmly.” Ms. Tallon, whose first day at Honeoye was August 12, lives in Geneseo with partner Jim. She has two daughters in college and enjoys kayaking and hiking when she gets the chance in addition to reading and studying design.
