HCS Welcomes Nathan Schneckenburger as Next Secondary Principal

Good Evening,

The Honeoye Central School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Nathan Schneckenburger as its next Secondary School Principal.  Mr. Schneckenburger was officially appointed this evening, 12/15, to the position during a Regular Meeting of the Board.
Mr. Schneckenburger has a wealth of administrative experience and has demonstrated himself to be a champion for students, teaching and learning.  He is a passionate source of advocacy for student outcomes and has a proven record of building and nurturing relationships with all stakeholders. As you are aware, HCS stakeholders took the time to identify the qualities that matter most to our school community.  Mr. Schneckenburger undeniably possesses each of the attributes identified in the HCS Leadership Profile... and we are confident that he will serve as a humble and TRUE BLUE leader at the POUND.   For the past eighteen years, Mr. Schneckenburger has worked for the Geneva Central School District. Most recently, he has served the last seven years as Assistant Principal at both the High School and Middle School levels.  During his tenure as an Assistant Principal, Mr. Schneckenburger led the Health and Safety Subcommittee of the Reopening Task Force, introduced Responsive Classroom practices at the Middle School level, implemented Restorative and De-escalation Practices, created and led a Chronic Absenteeism Mentor Program, led standards literacy work, and developed a Comprehensive Education Plan with a focus on student well being, equity and engagement.  During his time as Assistant Principal, Mr. Schneckenburger also served as Athletic Director.  As Athletic Director, he was responsible for hiring and evaluation of coaches, management of certification and safety training, and coordination and scheduling for all athletics programming in the Geneva Central School District.  Prior to his service in administration, Mr. Schneckenburger was a secondary Physical Education teacher in the district for eleven years.  Mr. Schneckenburger has a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from St. John Fisher College, a Master of Science in Physical Education from SUNY Brockport, and a Certificate of Advanced Study.
 
Meeting the expectations of the HCS community is one that Mr. Schneckenburger is well prepared to meet. He has 18 years in public education and has experienced first hand the impact educators have on students’ lives.  When asked about becoming the next HCS Secondary Principal, Schneckenburger commented, “I am very excited and feel fortunate to be joining such a proud school district. I look forward to developing a deep understanding of HCS and I am eager to work with the students, staff, and community as we look to continue to improve outcomes.  During the interview process I was consistently impressed with the optimism demonstrated by those I met and encouraged as this is certainly an important factor in adjusting to change. Preparations are currently underway and come January, I have the utmost confidence we’ll be able to hit the ground running on a continued path of growth. Go Bulldogs!”
 
Save the Date: To meet and learn more about Mr. Schneckenburger, the District invites members of the HCS school community to join us for a “Meet the Principal” event on January 18, from 6:00 - 7:00pm, or on January 19, from 9:00 - 10:00am. More information about these events will be shared with the Honeoye community in early January.
