New York’s State Performance Plan/Annual Performance Report (SPP/APR) Stakeholder Engagement (Registration Deadline Extension)

Good Afternoon,

The New York State Education Department (NYSED) is seeking to engage stakeholders in activities to improve outcomes for students with disabilities in New York State. The input of parents/guardians is invited and deemed vital in this process.  Recently, the registration deadline for participation in State Performance Plan/Annual Performance Report (SPP/APR) virtual sessions was extended to October 29, 2021.  SED has shared the following information about this work:

• "The SPP/APR includes 17 indicators that measure child and family outcomes as well as compliance with the requirements and purposes of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act .
• NYSED is currently developing the SPP/APR for the new six-year cycle.  As part of this process, stakeholder engagement is critical to assist in setting targets and developing improvement activities to strengthen and support outcomes for students with disabilities.  Stakeholder engagement activities will include: 
  • Broad public engagement and input through online surveys; and
  • Virtual meetings with stakeholder groups in November 2021.
• Additional information about the SPP/APR, including an SPP/APR Overview webinar and At-a-Glance State Performance Plan: Summary of Indicators 1-17, as well as information on how to register to participate in November 2021 virtual stakeholder meetings, may be found on the SPP/APR Stakeholder Involvement webpage.  Webinars that provide detailed information about the 17 indicators and online surveys for providing feedback on each indicator will also be posted on this webpage. 
• To register to participate in a virtual session on one or more of the indicators, please visit the SPP/APR Stakeholder Involvement webpage.  As stated above, pre-registration is required and has been extended to October 29, 2021."
