SENIORS: Save the Date! Graduation is June 26! From the Desk of Addie Klaehn, Secondary Principal UPDATES IN BLUE! Please direct questions to Secondary Office @ 229-5171 x3016 Saturday, June 13, 2020: Senior Caravan/Cap and GownPickup Each graduate is designated one (1) car, which can be “decorated” at home. Family members may ride in cars with graduates; all participants must wear masks. Graduates will assemble at St. Mary’s Church, no earlier than 11:30 am, and remain in their cars. Graduates may ride in the same car together as long as the number does not exceed social distancing guidelines; all individuals in a vehicle and all individuals are wearing masks (PPE). Volunteers will be onsite to line up cars and assure that social distancing protocol is practiced by all participants. Community members, friends, and family may line the streets of Main St., however, must remain in their vehicles at all times. Class of 2020 Caravan will leave St. Mary’s at 12pm (police/fire escort) and travel down Main Street, turning left onto Allens Hill Road after passing the school. Volunteers will direct Graduates’ cars to designated parking spaces (spaced out in compliance with social distancing protocol) in the District Office parking lot at HCS. Graduates only may exit cars, but must remain in designated parking spots and must wear masks. Welcome address. Class of 2020 will be invited to sing HCS Alma Mater for practice. Graduates will receive caps and gowns and personalize HCS Class of 2020 masks made with love by Sharon Greenwood; thank you Mrs. Greenwood! Photographer will take aerial “group shot” of the Class of 2020. Closing; volunteers will direct traffic out of the parking lot. June 26, 2020: Graduation (Rain Date: June 27; alternate rain date July 1) June 15th and June 16th individual ceremonies are CANCELLED. Graduation will take place on the soccer field. As of today (June 12, 2020), each graduate is permitted three (3) guests. All guests will be escorted to assigned seats beginning at 6:15 pm. (If this number changes, we will let you know!) Valedictorian and Salutatorian speeches will be given live! Each Graduate will receive scholarship or certification packets with diplomas. There will be no senior video viewing as part of graduation; this will be shared virtually. Graduates and parents will be escorted to vehicles at the end of the ceremony. Rehearsal will take place on the soccer field at 10 am on June 26th! More specific details will be shared as the June 26th approaches!
