HCS Appoints Secondary Principal

The Honeoye Central School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Addie Klaehn as its Secondary School Principal. Mrs. Klaehn has been serving as the Interim High School Principal for the past eight months, and during a Regular Meeting of the Board on May 12, the HCS Board of Education appointed her to a probationary position, effective July 1. 

Bridget Ashton, School Superintendent, commented “I could not be more pleased to announce the appointment of our very own, Mrs. Addie Klaehn, as next Secondary Principal at HCS.  “Mrs. Klaehn has demonstrated herself to be a reflective lead learner, a champion for students, learning and teaching, and a genuine source of positivity and growth mindset in her approach to building and nurturing relationships with all stakeholders.” Ashton shared that stakeholders “took the time to identify the qualities that matter most to our school community,” and said, “It is my firm belief that Mrs. Klaehn possesses each of the attributes identified in our leadership profile. She has served as a faithful Bulldog for 16 years... and I am confident that she will continue to serve for many more as a humble, TRUE BLUE leader for the district.”  

For the past sixteen years, Mrs. Klaehn has worked in Honeoye as a High School English Teacher, as well as Personalized Learning Instructional Coach and Interim Principal. Mrs. Klaehn has a Bachelor of Arts in English and Education from SUNY Oswego, a Master of Science in Curriculum Design and Instructional Technology from SUNY Albany, and a Certificate of Advanced Study (CAS) from SUNY Oswego. 

When asked about becoming HCS Secondary Principal, Klaehn commented, “I am beyond thrilled to continue working with the dedicated staff and talented students at HCS, and excited to build partnerships with the community to better leverage the many strengths that exist right outside our building doors.”
