Honeoye Central School District Closing Dear Honeoye Central School District, Many thanks to all of you for your flexibility and patience as we have worked to navigate through the rapidly evolving COVID-19 health alert. As a professional learning community, we continue to make the safety of our students and staff the main focus in our decision making process. We have been in nearly daily contact with our community partners, such as the New York State Department of Health, Ontario County Public Health, and the New York State Department of Education to plan for and respond to this emerging issue. Although there have been no confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ontario County, a Declaration of Emergency has been issued effective 3/15/2020. This Declaration of Emergency, paired with the direction of Ontario County Department of Health, regional agencies, and state officials has prompted all of the Finger Lakes Region School Districts to unanimously decide to close all schools and to cancel all school-related activities beginning Wednesday, March 18, 2020 as a mitigating and precautionary measure for COVID-19 (coronavirus). During this time, all students and families are encouraged to practice social distancing. In addition, Honeoye Central School District will be closed on Monday, March 16, for students. Our staff worked tirelessly to prepare plans for instruction to continue remotely during our Superintendent’s Conference Day on Friday, March 13. This work will continue on Monday, March 16.
