Parents and Honeoye Community members,
September marks the beginning of the new school year. Welcome to 2016-17 with hopes of it being the most rewarding one yet. It will be filled with new learning and events to celebrate the growth of students, talents of staff, and commitment of parents. Our charge is to work together in the commitment of a comprehensive educational experience for the children of our community from Grades K-12 within and surrounding the classroom. Take time to peruse this calendar to look for the many opportunities to be involved. We are excited about the continuation of events that are part of our history and new programs that will further enhance students’ experiences.
“A person who never made a mistake never tried anything new.”
Taking responsible risks and moving beyond a comfort zone are characteristics of strong learners. The anonymous saying that describes the largest room in the world as that of the room for improvement is aligned with a mindset of growth. Our District is acknowledged for performance in many areas of academics, visual and musical arts, athletics, theater, and many more. The tenacious behaviors of learners and the humility to strive for growth are among the most admirable qualities from our students, staff, and community. An attitude of perseverance, determination, and patience while working in collaboration will launch students to great success.
The Honeoye Central School District Mission and Vision Statements remind us that we must continually look for ways to “inspire students to achieve individual success through a rigorous and challenging academic environment and accept our charge to “join…all members of the community in educating children to be life-long learners who are respectful of the past, responsive to others, and who will contribute to and thrive in an ever-changing world.” Together, we interact in ways that will ensure that “a sense of unity, heartfelt pride and a vivid spirit will distinguish Honeoye students.”
Best wishes for a great 2016-17 school year!
